Following intensive courses of study on the style of a few Iranian contemporary artists, Morteza Khosravi decided to create portraits of each of them as an homage. However, with the completion of the first portrait from Bahman Mohassess, he decided to continue the quest focusing on Mohassess and his personality.  Khosravi generally repeats a subject matter, each time focusing on a subtle, new aspect. His earnest, enduring, and disciplined stylistic study is mostly focused on the work of Modern masters, whose main concern was the nature of pictorial representation and the means to exceed the habitual modes of picture-making. Here, together with an homage to his adored artist, he experiences with the limits of portrait painting.
